Andrew Pickup MICFor

Andrew is based in Herefordshire and manages our operations in the West Midlands and Welsh Marches. Andrew graduated with a first class honours degree in forestry from Bangor University in 2008 and started his career in the East Midlands, before moving to Herefordshire in to work for Pryor and Rickett Silviculture in 2013, where he was responsible for a diverse portfolio of estate woodlands. After taking six months out to travel, Andrew set up AP Foresty in 2023 to provide an independent, client-focussed service for a broad range of woodland owners.  Andrew has a particular interest in mixed lowland silviculture, hardwood timber marketing and novel tree species.

Matthew Walker Forestry

Matthew is based in Banbury and covers central England and the Cotswolds. Matthew’s involvement with forestry started at a young age, helping in his family’s woodland in North Wales. He went on to study forestry at Bangor University and graduated with a first class honours degree in 2020. Matthew gained experience of a broad range of forest types working in central Scotland and Herefordshire before settling in Oxfordshire. Matthew combines a sound grounding in commercial forestry with a flair for managing complex lowland woodlands. Matthew has a particular interest in technology and brings expertise in GIS mapping and drone surveying.

Verity Mallinson MSc

Verity works out of our Hereford office assisting with a range of forestry operations, management planning and grant applications. Verity joined the company in 2026 after completing a postgraduate diploma in forestry at Bangor University. Verity’s background is in social sciences and she started her career with the civil service before moving to Germany with her family. Verity’s interest in forestry was sparked by the forests around her home in Bavaria and she spent three months as an intern with the Bavarian state forestry department before moving back to the UK. Verity is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and has a particular interest in continuous cover silviculture.
